  6.     At 21, HARRY CONNICK JR. isn't quite old enough to be a jazz
  7. master. But the New Orleans native has been working at it for
  8. a while. At six, he was already sitting in with Dixieland
  9. musicians. Right now he seems to be winning for jazz piano the
  10. same young audience that WYNTON MARSALIS won for jazz horn.
  11. "It's the kind of music I was born to play," Connick says. But
  12. while he can mimic a wide range of styles, Connick admits he
  13. doesn't have his own. "I'm still trying to understand DUKE
  14. ELLINGTON and ART TATUM."  Harry, you've got lots of time.
